Since 1989, the reverse (tails side) has always featured a kangaroo, the kangaroo being the universally recognized symbol of “The Land Down Under.” Although the coin’s obverse remains the same, its reverse changes annually—with a kangaroo always a prominent element of its motif. The yearly change in design has—according to various collectors—increased the bullion coin’s value to almost numismatic levels.
