The Chinese Gold Pandas obverse (heads side) depicts one of Beijing’s many historic buildings, while its reverse (tails side) is redesigned each year (with the notable exception of the 2002 Panda) to feature a new giant panda motif. Although Gold Pandas are produced at mints located in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, and Shenyang, no mintmarks are ever shown—perhaps due to Communist China’s well-known aversion to individualism.
