These 2008 W $1 American Silver Eagles are brand new and burnished. Slightly more than 500 thousand burnished Silver Eagles were minted in 2008, compared to 2.5 million "standard" bullion coins. As official US currency, their content, weight, and purity are guaranteed by the government.
Each coin’s obverse (heads side) replicates the “Walking Liberty” half dollar of the early part of the 20th century; each reverse (tails side) displays the Great Seal of the United States as interpreted by John M. Mercanti, and each coin contains a full troy ounce of .999 fine silver.
The 2008 W $1 Burnished Silver Eagle is IRA eligible.
