The 2013-W Silver Eagle West Point 2-Coin Set Reverse Proof / Enhanced Mint State PCGS PR70 - MS70 First Strike includes Certified Versions of both the Reverse Proof and the US Mint’s unique, new “Enhanced Mint State” bullion coin finish. Each comes with complimentary OGP.Read More
Each coin that is part of the 2013-W Silver Eagle West Point 2-Coin Set Reverse Proof / Enhanced Mint State PCGS PR70 - MS70 First Strike has been reviewed, studied, and has received a “perfect” grade by the Professional Coin Grading Service Additionally, they have been designated “First Strike,” meaning that they were among the first coins struck by the Mint. Additionally, the Enhanced Uncirculated Eagle has been designated SP—indicating a very special bullion specimen.
Most of us are familiar with the finishes the Mint offers for its coins: Brilliant Uncirculated, Proof, Reverse Proof, Burnished, etc.
Accordingly, the first of the two coins is a typical Silver Eagle Reverse Proof; that is, a coin whose content is 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver, with frosted fields and mirrored devices.
A Unique Finish
The “Enhanced Mint State” finish, however, features fields that are “lightly frosted” (using new laser technology), elements that are “brilliantly polished,” and a third finish: “heavily frosted” inscriptions. The three contrasting finishes add extraordinary definition to the coin’s design. The Enhanced Uncirculated coin will be available from the Mint only as part of the 2-coin set.
Both coins come from the Mint’s West Point facility and carry the W Mint Mark. Each is US legal tender, with a face value of $1. Both are encapsulated and have the West Point label affixed.
These 2013-W Silver Eagle West Point 2-Coin Set Reverse Proof / Enhanced Mint State PCGS PR70 - MS70 First Strike Certified coins are already unique and limited in population due to their First Strike status. And, as time goes by, they cannot help but become rarer still

It may be difficult to be appreciative when waiting a couple months for pre-sale coins, but almost everyone has been waiting, especially those who chose to hold out for the best prices. I went with GoldMart because they were first to list their pre-sales for the amazing West Point 2-coin 75th Anniversary set. And, along the way they have adjusted their prices to be extremely competitive with the best in the market. So, my orders are in, and the products are beautiful. The NGC set arrived a couple weeks ago and is simple spectacular. Generally, I prefer PCGS graded coins, I just received that shipment today after the USPS took 7 days to deliver a 2-day express mailing. But, who doesn't have stories about that bush-league outfit. In this case the NGC coins' presentation are superior to the PCGS sets but the coins are all undeniably grade 70. As has occurred in the past, two or three tiny specs of dust were encapsulated with the PCGS coins. Nothing near asking for a slab replacement, but when I did ask a few years back, they were very easy to work with and charged nothing, after inspection, to perform the service. I am very pleased with my orders and GoldMart is on my list of preferred sells. BTW, the new, "Struck at The West Point Mint" label is very simple but looks classy to me. I already had the PCGS Flag label so got this to have something different. Another change at PCGS is the use of "First Strike" rather than the plural. I thought the "Strikes" version was more accurate.

There was a delay in shipment but worth it when I received the coins today in the mail and they are perfect! Also as I first time buyer from goldmart, I found the customer service to be good as I sent several emails that were responded to promptly. I requested the OGP for the set which they sent to me free of charge. And since it was PCGS who actually caused the delay in shipping I can't put that on goldmart, in fact their president went to PCGS himself and picked up the coins to expedite the shipping process. Overall I give them 5 stars for service and a very, very, nice set of coins. Thank you Goldmart!
