Buy 2019 Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins

2019 marks the 31st issuance of the Austrian oz Gold Philharmonic Coin by the 800 year-old Münze Österreich (Austrian Mint) in Vienna, Austria.  The 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin quickly became one of the world’s most popular gold investments used to hedge against inflation and mitigate risk since first issued on October 10, 1989.  The 2000 Schilling denominated coin was even the most purchased gold bullion product worldwide in 1992, 1995, and 1996.  Although Austria adopted the Euro on January 1, 1999, the Schilling continued to be the monetary unit of currency of the oz Gold Philharmonic until 2002 when the new face value of 100 Euro debuted on the 24 karat gold coin and remains the legal tender value of the 2019 issuance.  In addition to the 2019 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic, the Austrian Mint issues fractional weights including 1/25 ounce (4 euro), 1/10 ounce (10 euro), 1/4 ounce (25 euro), and 1/2 ounce (50 euro) and also 1 oz Silver Philharmonic and 1 oz Platinum Philharmonic coins.  Goldmart has brand new 2019 1 ounce Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coins are available to buy for the lowest price online.

2019 Austrian Gold Philharmonic Design

The Austrian Philharmonic series was designed by Thomas Pesendorfer, the Chief Engraver of the Austrian Mint.  The obverse of the 2019 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin displays the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s world-renowned Great Organ located in the Goldener Saal (Golden Hall) of the Wiener Musikverein.  The coin depicts the Great Organ’s three ranks encased in the decorative relief of the Neo-Classical style of ancient Greek temples.  Two figurines with instruments in hand rest upon the precipice of the pediment.  Pairs of figurines are shown poised on columns that separate the ranks.  A stylobate supports the weight of the Great Organ and spans the front of the coin.  Four inscriptions are minted: the country, ‘REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH’ (Republic of Austria); the weight, precious metal type, and fineness, ‘1 UNZE GOLD 999.9’; the year, ‘2019’; and the face value, “100 EURO”.

The reverse of the 2019 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin displays prominent instruments of the string, woodwind, and brass sections.  These represent the instruments owned by the orchestra that have been passed down from musician to musician for centuries so the Philharmonic’s fine-tuned sound always remains the same.  The heavily represented string section showcases a cello in the midst of pairs of violins and violas.  A Heckel bassoon is the sole member of the woodwind section.  The Viennese horn is unique to the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra’s brass section and replaces the French horn commonly used by other orchestras.  A pedal harp is displayed that is a stand-alone instrument not belonging to any particular section of the orchestra.  ‘WIENER PHILHARMONIKER’ (Vienna Philharmonic) is minted on the front of the 2019 1 oz Austrian Gold Philharmonic Coin.
